superactivist: Meat farmers like to make you think that most of your meat comes from this wide open beautiful space where the animals run around and live happy lives. More than 80% of meat however, doesn't come from a happy life. Factory farms are so common because the demand for meat is so high. Female animals are forcibly impregnated and have their babies killed if they aren't born perfect. Even if they are born perfect, they are mutilated and tortured their entire lives until they are brutally slaughtered. If you don't support this cruelty, don't buy meat. It's that simple.
